Our Norwich & Wymondham antenatal classes have been born due to us frequently meeting couples whose labour, birth and early days with their new baby did not match their expectations, despite having attended antenatal classes. We believe that women have a significantly higher chance of having a positive birth experience if they are prepared for all eventualities, because when it comes to childbirth, things might not always go to plan. This is why we have decided to create antenatal classes which would offer honest, relevant and up to date information straight from the horse’s mouth – no filter, no fluff!
We offer you antenatal classes with a difference. Run by experienced practising midwives, our courses are relaxed, open, honest and non-judgmental and include everything you need to know for your labour, birth and early days with your baby.
Classes are small enough to allow interaction and space for asking questions, but large enough to enable you to meet other parents with babies due at similar times, giving you the opportunity to create a support network and potentially friends for the years to come.
We also offer antenatal courses specifically designed for women and their partners who are having a planned Caesarean section and therefore don’t need the information about labour and vaginal birth, but who still want to get all the benefits of attending antenatal classes. These courses will help you feel at ease about your upcoming Caesarean birth and include practical advice to help you prepare for the big day and postnatal recovery, infant feeding (both breast and bottle) as well as looking after your new baby.
Our C-section courses run on demand, please contact us for details!

So I am posting this from a Daddy to be perspective. Jo and Andrea were absolutely fantastic! I learnt so much! I am now a ninja nappy changer, expert back massager, sling wearer, bottle feeder, but most of all, I have the confidence to support my lovely wifey to be before, during, and after the birth of our child. This course is realistic, so you know what to expect. Trust me... Mums to be and especially Dad's to be. You won't regret it.
I would 100% recommend these Antenatal classes to any new parents to be. Andrea and Jo were excellent, friendly and created a safe space to ask any question you had. They both have years of knowledge and experience it would be a waste not to utilise it. The amount of detail and information you get never felt overwhelming and were backed up with information via email afterwards. I would definitely say that I am prepared, and will have a positive birth experience knowing all the outcomes and options that I have. Dad to be also found them super useful and wrote a lot of notes during the first two classes. He was given plenty of information on how to help, and what his role will be. Thank you Andrea and Jo. Xx
One of the best things I’ve done with my money is to join Andrea and Jo’s classes. As the youngest of 5 boys and never having hung around babies before, I really had no idea if what I thought I knew was rubbish, or, if I didn’t know anything that I should know by now. As it turns out, I knew some stuff, was nearly right (but not quite) on a lot of things, and other things I didn’t even know I didn’t know. I had read a few books on the subject and found it hard to find something that struck the right tone for me, but, having done the classes, what Andrea and Jo don’t know isn’t worth knowing. And as a ‘newcomer’ to the subject, I never felt like one. I have no doubt that the course has boosted my confidence, I’m so glad to have done it!
Both my partner and I found this course very helpful! I have experience in childcare but my partner didn’t know much about babies at all. Now we both feel much more confident while waiting for our first baby to arrive. Andrea and Jo were so friendly and answered all questions that we had! I would highly recommend this course for any new parents.
We can thoroughly recommend Andrea and Jo's antenatal class course! Despite the classes needing to be carried out via Zoom due to Covid, Andrea and Jo went to great lengths to ensure that the classes were very valuable and practical as far as possible. They provided various resources to help us practise with feeding, baby changing, bathing and baby wearing over the four weeks which was excellent and very helpful. The information they shared across the four classes felt very up-to-date and relevant along with handouts shared after each class. There were always opportunities to ask questions and it was also very useful to help us think through the practicalities of labour. It was nice to be able to talk to other soon-to-be-parents, too.
Andrea and Jo are fantastic! 5 stars just isn't enough. They have taken us through all of the key stages of labour, delivery and when we have our little ones - in a practical and easy to understand way. We even got to use practice babies to get used to things like slings, nappy changes and getting vest/baby grows on and off. You get matched with a small group of soon-to-be parents who have a similar due date to you and go through the whole process together (which is really reassuring and such a nice touch during lockdown) and we can ask Andrea & Jo questions outside of the group too. I was quite nervous about how I'd handle the practical sides of things as well as what choices are open to us in different birth settings - A&J covered it all!
Really wonderful antenatal classes with practising midwives who know the ins and outs of how things work in Norfolk. They offer special C-section classes too - highly recommend that if having an elective C-section. They have up to date advice and delivery everything in an engaging and useful way :)
The course was brilliant. Jo and Andrea were super helpful and friendly. Very knowledgeable with a relaxed feeling. Jo and Andrea were very helpful answering questions. Due to covid the course was through zoom but they provided a kit to be able to do all the practical parts and they allowed time to talk to others on the course. This course has made me feel ready for the birth and more relaxed about it. I would highly recommend this course.
Very helpful! Being first time parents it was comforting to be around other couples in the same boat. The course covered many issues that we hadn't thought of or even been aware of. Andrea and Jo were very thorough with their advice and experience which helped put our minds at ease. Can't recommend highly enough, 5⭐. Many thanks
Jo and Andrea are both lovely ladies who really know their field. They are friendly and professional and are really good and helpful at answering any questions. Despite the courses being on Zoom at the moment, you still learn a lot and their knowledge is invaluable. They provide a kit to practice with so you still get the practical elements of the course. We would highly recommend a course led by Jo and Andrea. 😊
